Vision and Purpose

Vision

"We envision interactive learning communities where citizens identify, analyze, and help solve problems in their local and global communities. Through cutting-edge research and development, local and international networking, school-university-industry partnerships, and interdisciplinary degree programs, we envision empowered citizens working for the creation of a global society rid of poverty, crime, racism, and other forms of inequality."

The purpose of the K20 Center is to actualize its vision by facilitating the activities of four interrelated partnership divisions. The divisions include:

  • University Research and Academics Partnerships
  • K-12 Partnerships
  • Community Partnerships
  • Industry and Technology Partnerships
  • Each division has been developed in a way that allows it to have an expanding circle of influence, a value that extends beyond the immediacy of its members, to support and help sustain interactive learning communities.

The K20 Center disseminates educational and community renewal results locally, nationally, and internationally through publications, presentations, lesson study, group and individual issue-specific work sessions, and electronic and face-to-face networking experiences.
